QR menu for a restaurant: how it works and what it costs

A QR menu is a menu a guest opens on their phone by scanning a code on the table or a poster. It has become common for venues because prices and dishes change quickly.

How it works

The code leads to a web page with the menu. Because the menu lives on a page and not on paper, you can update it in minutes: change a price, remove a dish, add the daily offer.

Advantages

  • Quick updates of prices and dishes, with no reprinting.
  • Several languages in the same menu, which matters on the coast.
  • Less paper and fewer old, crumpled menus.

What to watch out for

  • Some guests do not want to scan a code, so it is good to also have a few printed menus.
  • On a weak signal the menu must be light and open quickly.
  • The code must be big enough and in a visible place.

What it costs

At MR Media a printed menu starts at €350, a QR menu at €450 and both formats from the same content at €750. A translation into an extra language is +€100. Prices are final (MR Media is not VAT registered).

How long it takes

Once you prepare the menu and photos, the menu is usually done in a few days. We agree the deadline in the quote.

For venues in Izola, Piran and Portorož I also make menus in person. Describe your venue and I will tell you what makes sense.
